Hello Everyone!
My name is Alexandra Velazquez and I am a current sophomore here at Penn State. I am a Public Relations major with a minor in Sociology. I am from Bensalem, PA which is about 15 minutes from Center City, Philadelphia.
With having a strong interest in sociology, I’m pretty interested in anything that has to do with people and the way they think and effect things. With that being said, I’m really excited to be taking a course about the environment and I’m most excited to learn about human interaction in relation to the environment and the effects we have on our world around us. Also, I’m probably going to be most interested in the ethics component of all of these things especially after reading module one and going into module two. I think ethics are a really interesting thing to talk about because many people have vastly different ethical ideologies especially when it comes to the environment.

Similarly, i am thinking about taking on sociology as a minor. Peoples decision makings and influences on things grabs my attention. I think this course will satisfy our interest of human interactions and impacts on the environment that surrounds us. Ethics is a great focus because the environment and the future environment all depends on human ethics. Each part of the world has different perspectives and ideas as to how the world should be treated. I hope you enjoy the class!
Hi Alexandra, my name is Alyssa Massaro. I am also a Sociology minor at Penn State so I share your interest of human interaction and our impact on the environment. I am also interested to hear other people’s opinions on how we can better the earth because many have very different ideas. I find the ethics portion of this course very intriguing as well.
